• Family Guide Brochure: A Parent and Student Introduction to Fraternity and Sorority Life

  • See the Interfraternity Council website for dates, times, and places to find out more information about the fraternity/sorority recruitment process at Purdue.

  • General information about fraternities is online at www.fraternityinfo.com. This information provided by the North American Interfraternity Conference.

  • GPA Requirement:  There is no minimum GPA requirement to participate in fraternity recruitment. However, in order to be initiated, the Purdue Interfraternity Council requires a 2.25 or higher Graduate Index or Semester GPA. Most chapters have their own minimum GPA requirements. Students should be able to provide proof of GPA via high school or college transcripts.

  • Most fraternities accept members from all academic majors at Purdue.   However, a few have special membership requirements or preferences based on majors and/or backgrounds:
    • Alpha Gamma Rho - School of Agriculture majors or men with farm backgrounds
    • Alpha Epsilon Pi - open to all men, founded primarily as a Jewish fraternity
    • Beta Sigma Psi - open to all men, founded primarily as a Lutheran fraternity
    • Delta Theta Sigma - primarily for School of Agriculture majors
    • FarmHouse - open to all majors, but traditionally maintains about 60% of its membership from the School of Agriculture
    • Theta Tau - Schools of Engineering majors
    • Triangle Fraternity - Schools of Engineering and School of Science majors
    • Evans Scholars - accepts men and women with scholarships from the Evans Scholars Foundation, which is associated with the Western Golf Association.
