Kyle Pendleton has been working with fraternity and sorority students for over 15 years and has been in his role of Assistant Dean of Students at Purdue University since July 2006. On May 13, 2009, he celebrated his 20 th anniversary of being initiated as a freshman into the Alpha Iota chapter of Delta Sigma Phi at The Ohio State University. After receiving his degree in journalism, Kyle traveled as a leadership consultant for his national organization. He received his M.Ed. in Student Personnel Administration from the University of South Carolina and has held positions at San Diego State University, Columbia University, and Northwestern University. His professional activities include: Lead Facilitator for LeaderShape, facilitator for the John and Nellie Wooden Institute for Men of Principle, serving on the Northeast Greek Leadership Association Executive Board, serving for three years as the Dean of the Delta Sigma Phi Leadership Academy, and founding UIFI:PURDUE; the nation's first campus based session of the NIC program. Kyle served as the 2007 President of the Association of Fraternity and Sorority Advisors. He was awarded Beta Theta Pi's Interfraternalism Award at their 169 th General Convention in Dallas, TX; the Sue Kraft Fussell Distinguished Service Award from the Association of Fraternity and Sorority Advisors; and was the 2010 recipient of the Association of Fraternal Values and Leadership Steve Dealph Outstanding Fraternity & Sorority Professional Award.
Personally, Kyle is a huge college sports fan, plays volleyball, and depending on the month, is a runner. He ran the 2004 Chicago Marathon and immediately decided to retire from that distance.

Lindi Smedberg, a Florida native, completed her Bachelor of Science in Exceptional Child Education and Master of Arts in Educational Leadership & Student Personnel Administration from the University of Central Florida. Lindi has worked at Rollins College, Florida Gulf Coast University, and the University of North Florida in various student affairs positions. She comes to Purdue having most recently served as the Assistant Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life at Central Florida University. In this position, she worked as the advisor to the Panhellenic Council, Greek Council, and has taken the lead on fraternity and sorority risk management efforts. Additionally, she sat on the Access to Alcohol Committee as part of the Orange County Underage Drinking Task Force; and served as an instructor for the school's first-year student college transition course. She remains active with many professional development and volunteer roles in the Association of Fraternity Advisors, Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity, NASPA, and the Southeastern Panhellenic Conference. |

Martia Brawner began her role as an Assistant Dean of Students on September 10, 2007. She joins Kyle Pendleton and Lindi Smedberg, in rounding out the Fraternity and Sorority Life (FSL) advising team within the Student Activities and Organizations Office. Dean Brawner's primary responsibilities focus on student organization oversight/advising, along with working with Purdue's Cooperative Council, National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC), and the Multicultural Greek Council (MGC). Dean Brawner received her B.A. in ethnic studies from Bowling Green State University and went on to achieve her M.Ed. in student affairs in higher education from Wright State University. Shawn McCall is currently the Graduate Assistant for the Interfraternity Council and the Panhellenic Council where she assists in advising student leaders, collegiate chapters, and council officers of the Interfraternity Council and the Panhellenic Association. She works with the entire fraternity and sorority life community and undergraduate student population to enhance the educational programming of Fraternity and Sorority Life. Shawn also facilitates training sessions at various Interfraternity Council and Panhellenic Association leadership conferences or workshops as well as assists in the planning and implementation of programming efforts of the Interfraternity Council and the Panhellenic Association. She serves as the primary advisor for the Greek Week Committee and other standing committees within Interfraternity Council and Panhellenic Association. Lastly, she serves as a liaison between University offices and the Fraternity and Sorority Community |
