Why are we changing Greek Press and Greek Marketing Team into the Greek Promotions Team?
- Neither Greek Press nor GMT in the past has been productive or utilized.
- Retention has been an issue for both teams, because members feel irrelevant.
- Neither group had definitive goals, set tasks or an evaluation process.
- Both groups have natural overlapping.
- By conjoining groups they will become more productive, relevant, and more effective sources for the Greek Community.
What the Greek Promotions Team will do?
- Greek Promotions Team members will report to the Greek Promotions Executive Board, which consist of the Panhellenic Directors of Public Relations and Publications and IFC Directors of Publicity and Publications.
- From the pool of Greek Promotions Team members, we will form event teams that go to events, such as the Grand Prix Convocation, that have the following responsibilities:
- Press Releases
- Promotion of the event (fliers, facebook messages, etc.)
- Advertisement in the Community Chronicle
- Contact with the individual chapters (chapter liaisons)
- Event coverage (attendance and photography)
- Preparing a follow up GreekVine article
- Educational Publications
- They will have weekly to bi-weekly meetings with Greek Promotions Executive Board to monitor progress and collaborate.
- They will be assigned multiple events throughout the year and be expected to balance more than one event at any given time.
- The Greek Promotions Executive Board will meet weekly outside of the BOD and PC/PDC meetings, with occasional attendance from the IFC and PHC VPOs.
- Upon completion of a specific task, Greek Promotions Team members will be expected to submit material to their supervising director for review, and then on to the VPOs and subsequent advisors for final review. The following directors will receive completed materials in the specified areas:
- GreekVine articles and pictures will be submitted to the IFC Director of Publication.
- Community Chronicle and pictures will be submitted to the PHC Director of Publication.
- Press releases and promotions will be submitted to both the Panhellenic and IFC Directors of Public Relations/Publicity.
How will the team be utilized?
- We will be able to be for all IFC/PHC/NPHC/MGC events deemed necessary by council officers and the community.
